Opening Scene – Dream Sequence

[Visual: A dream sequence – Dim lights open the scene in a quiet room with a sombre tone. A 15-year-old boy sits shattered on the chair. Lying on the table are debt notices, credit card bills, and tax forms. His gaze fixated on those pieces of paper as if he had just seen a ghost. His facial expressions are grim and those of overwhelm.]

[Visual: Besides him, the ghost of her mother stands – her facial expressions reveal grief and guilt. She reaches out to comfort her son – tries to place her hand on his back, but it passes through him.]

[Visual: The camera zooms into her pale face – her lips trembling because of her emotional distress, and her eyes are heavy with tears that are yet to fall down.]

MOTHER (speaks with choked emotion and breaking voice, looking into the camera directly):

“I thought he was prepared for life… He knows how to ride a bike, cook food, and even do his laundry.

[Visual: The camera slowly shifts its focus from the face to the documents on the table – close-up shots show the Overdue stamps, loan documents, and credit card balances.]

“But why… why did I never think of making him financially literate?”

[Visual: Camera again shifts focus from the table to the pale mother’s face – silent tears continue to roll down her cheeks.]

“ I wish I had some more time…”

[Visual: trembling lips uttering these words]

“... to just do the money talk!”

Dream-to-Reality Transition

[Visual: The camera zooms out of the room slowly, with lights getting dimmer. The image of the mother’s ghost and the shattered son slowly gets blurred in the backdrop. The scene fades into darkness. Then–]

[Visual: Cut to the mother in bed – she suddenly gasps for breath.]

[Visual: Her eyes snap open, looking at the ceiling. It was a dream. She is alive.]

[Visual: She is breathing heavily, with sweat on her forehead, and fresh tears on her cheeks.]

[Visual: She slowly gets up and sits quietly on the bed, panting.]

[Visual: The camera zooms into her face – captures her relief and the resolution in her eyes to do what needs to be done – teaching her son the money maths.]

Closing Frame – Message on Screen

[Visual: Big bold text appears on the screen in the backdrop of the mother on the bed:

“Financial Literacy – your kid needs it! Pass the wisdom before it’s too late.” ]
